membership
Virginia Grain Producers Association (VGPA) is a collective membership driven organization. The association’s primary goal is to advocate, promote and enhance opportunities for Virginia grain farmers.

“Virginia corn and small grain producers need someone to speak for them in harmony, Virginia Grain Producers Association does this! And a corn or small grain producer can look to VGPA for information. It’s a win win.”
- L. Hayden Eicher, Producer & Virginia Corn Board Chairman
“I've been involved with VGPA for a long time. The work they do is critical to farmers in our area. Whether they're talking to State officials or a group of Farmers, they cover the needs of the farmers in Virginia.”
- Calvin Haile, Haile Farm, LLC
“Virginia farmers must have a united front as we address the policy, trade, and regulatory issues that face our industry. As crop farmers, that is why we are members of our commodity associations, including the VGPA.”
- Shannon Ellis & Thomas Neck, Agricultural Enterprises
What is the Virginia Grain Producers Association?
If you are a farmer in Virginia and you grow corn, wheat, barley, rye or oats, the growers association should be important to you. Membership in the association is vital to grow and sustain your farm operation and your role in Virginia agriculture.
Virginia farmers are stronger together, and we need your help as we set the record straight and educate regulators and consumers about Virginia’s corn and small grains industries. Policy makers and consumers alike are more-and-more removed from the farm and oftentimes have little to no knowledge of modern agriculture.
Association members take an active role in advocating for farmers at both the state and federal levels of government. The growers association prides itself on staying ahead of issues that have the potential to impact the way farmers make a living. Policymakers in Richmond and in Washington, DC need to know what issues are important to Virginia grain farmers and their advocates. Legislative leaders know that the growers association, and its members, can be respected and trusted.

VGPA Board of Directors
Our board members are focused on the future of Virginia corn and small grains farmers. They are responsible for strategic planning, setting organizational priorities and, overall, providing farmers with the tools, knowledge and resources to effectively grow their business. Our board members continue to be a strong voice for Virginia’s grain farmers.
Checkoff
Boards
The VGPA works closely with farmer-led leadership across the state through a regional checkoff board structure. These boards represent different areas of Virginia’s grain-growing community and play a vital role in guiding how checkoff funds are invested locally. From research and education to promotion and advocacy, each region’s board ensures that grower dollars are put to work in ways that directly benefit their farms, fields, and future.
