Entry forms for VGPA's 2021 Barley, Wheat, & Hard Wheat Yield Contests are now available. Yield contests, such as this, are an important element in our mission to highlight and communicate the accomplishments of Virginia agriculture to our industry partners and the general public. With the help of Virginia Cooperative Extension and various seed companies, we are able to both reward and promote the achievements of Virginia's most productive grain producers. 

 

Printable entry forms and contest details are listed below. Entry forms must be postmarked by July 16th to be considered for judging. Please also take a moment to visit the Yield Contest page of our website for more information.

 

Wheat Yield Contest

Awards and cash will be presented to first, second, third, and fourth place winners. More than one entry can be submitted from a farm operation as long as the entries are materially different in production practices and entered by different people. The prize money is provided by the seed companies. Entries must be postmarked no later than July 16, 2021.

 

1st Prize - $700.00

2nd Prize - $500.00

3rd Prize - $300.00

4th Prize - $200.00

Barley Yield Contest

Awards and cash will be presented to first, second, and third place winners. National Corn Yield Contest

NCGA's National & State Corn Yield Contest is accepting entries at this time. Visit the NCGA website for entry. Entries may be submitted via an online form or a printable PDF. EMark your calendar Early entry: May 3 - June 30, 2021 $75 per online entry plus one-time affiliated State/NCGA membership fee (if applicable)   Final entry:  July 1 -  Aug. 18, 2021 $110 per online entry plus one-time affiliated State/NCGA membership fee (if applicable)   Harvest entry: Aug. 19 - Nov. 30, 2021   NCGA National Corn Yield Contest Winners will be announced Dec. 15, 2021
