Virginia Ag Expo Draws Large Crowd in Virginia Beach
Ag Expo is the State’s Largest Annual Field Day
Virginia Beach, VA – More than 1,000 farmers, agriculture industry professionals, and interested parties from across the mid-Atlantic gathered at the 2013 Virginia Ag Expo on August 1st at Land of Promise Farms, run by the Horsley family in Virginia Beach.
This year’s theme, "Agriculture: Bringing Promise to Our Future" reminds us to pause to reflect on our achievements and successes while being mindful of what the future may hold.
This year's event included over 140 exhibitors showcasing the latest farm equipment, services, and the newest agriculture technology. The event featured field tours, including: Contemporary Issues in the Swine Industry; High Yield Corn Management; Potassium Fertility in Soybean; Vegetable and Small Fruit Production; Management of Cotton and Grain Sorghum; and Aerial Imaging for Agricultural Crops.
The Ag Expo provides educational opportunities and serves as an essential networking tool. Growers and consumers have the opportunity to discuss and learn more about available services and products.
